SonicWall, originally a private company headquartered in San Jose, California, and Dell subsidiary from 2012 to 2016, sells a range of Internet appliances primarily directed at content control and network security. These include devices providing services for network firewalls, UTMs (Unified Threat Management), VPNs (Virtual Private Network), and anti-spam for email. On June 20, 2016, Dell sold SonicWall (part of its Dell Software) to private equity firm Francisco Partners and Elliott Management.

In 2017, Palo Alto Networks announced the availability of its new cloud-based service Logging Services, allowing customers to amass their own data.[3] In , Palo Alto Networks introduces Global Cyber range initiatives to prevent sophisticated cyberattacks. The facility within Palo Alto Networks Europe, Middle East and Africa headquarters will open in Amsterdam, becoming the first Cyber Range location.
